Gossip + Lying

The words we use have incredible power, to build up and to tear down. Gossip is especially toxic. So what role do words play in your life – to bring life or to destroy others? By reading the Bible regularly it will help you understand that God takes very seriously what comes out of our mouths. Quiet yourself and just listen to what He has to say.

Loose lips sink ships. Hung by the tongue. Open mouth; insert foot. There are so many phrases that describe the dangers of not having control of your mouth and the things you say. Gossip is no exception. Gossip is one of those things that is so easy to prove especially if we have been hurt. Here are two basic principles for gossip: Those that gossip to you will also gossip about you. And, if you are not a part of the solution, remain silent. Is God really that concerned about gossip? Does He really care about what we say? Take a look at God’s Word to learn how to use your words!

Do little white lies matter? Are their different levels of lying, and are some okay? The truth is, God expects honesty. The Bible will bring the Truth of scripture into your thinking. Quiet yourself before God and let your mind be renewed.

It was just a little white lie. Really? Is there such a thing? Some lies hold bigger consequences than others, but a lie is a lie. What about a have-truth? Well, isn’t a have-truth really a lie? After all, you really don’t know what you are getting at. Some people think that lying is OK as long as it doesn’t hurt anyone or it is OK as long as it helps someone. This is the very trap of lying. People deceive themselves into only thinking about the moment and don’t give much thought about how that lie can snowball into a bigger problem. Check out why God hates lying so much!

Remember: The Truth will Set You FREE!
